Buildings covers:
- The structure of your home including any gates, hedges and walls.
- Structures within the boundaries of your home such as garages and sheds.
- All permanent fixtures and fittings such as kitchen units, fitted wardrobes and bathroom suites.
- You are covered against fire, storm or flood, theft, malicious damage, vandalism, subsidence and escape of water.
This also includes:
- Free replacement of locks if your keys are stolen - up to £500.
- Up to 20% of the buildings sum insured to pay for the cost of alternative accommodation if the home cannot be lived in because of loss or damage.
Optional Accidental Damage Cover
For extra peace of mind, you can add the accidental damage option to your buildings cover. This will cover accidental damage to your property (for example drilling through a pipe or putting your foot through the ceiling while in the loft).
Contents covers:
- All household goods.
- Valuables – although you will need to tell us about individual items over a certain value.
- Money in the home including unauthorised use of any cards - up to £250.
- You are covered against fire, storm or flood, theft, malicious damage or vandalism, subsidence and escape of water.
This also includes:
- Freezer contents - up to £500
- Contents in the garden - up to £500
Only items within the household are insured. Items which are stored in an outbuilding within the boundary of the home provided they are locked away are also covered. If you want cover outside the home, you will need Personal Possessions cover.
Optional Accidental Damage Cover
For extra peace of mind, you can choose to add Accidental Damage cover to your contents cover. This will cover any accidental damage to, for example, your carpets, curtains, furniture, and so on. It would also cover mishaps such as knocking over an ornament or vase.
Optional Personal Possessions Cover
This covers your personal belongings (including pedal cycles), money and valuables away from the home. We'll even cover them anywhere in the world for up to 60 days a year.
